# Connect AI replies to StoreScope Analytics

## The access it needs

## Steps

1. Anthropic Console, API keys: create a key for StoreScope. [Open API keys](https://console.anthropic.com/settings/keys)
2. Each suggestion is one short request billed to that key. Nothing is posted to a store until you send it.
3. In StoreScope Analytics, open Connections, choose AI replies, fill in the form and save. The connection is checked live with the store first; a connection that fails the check is never saved.

## Errors the check can show

The exact sentence the Connections page shows (<angle brackets> are your own values), then what to do.

- "API key is required."
  Create a key in the Anthropic Console, API keys.
- "An Anthropic API key starts with sk-ant-."
  Copy the whole key.
- "Anthropic refused the API key."
  The key was deleted or is wrong. Create a new one.
- "The key has no access to the API."
  The key's workspace cannot use the API (billing or permissions in the Anthropic Console).
- "Anthropic answered <status>."
  Anthropic answered something unexpected. Try again in a few minutes.
