# Connect Bing Webmaster Tools to StoreScope Analytics

> Clicks, impressions and queries from Bing for each app's website.

## What it unlocks in StoreScope Analytics

- Clicks, impressions and queries from Bing for each app's website (Bing reports no average position).

## The access it needs

| For | Least role or permission |
|---|---|
| Search traffic | An API key of the Bing Webmaster account that has the sites verified |

## Steps

1. Bing Webmaster Tools, Settings, API access: generate an API key. [Open Bing Webmaster Tools](https://www.bing.com/webmasters/settings/api)
2. Set each app's website on the Apps page.
3. In StoreScope Analytics, open Connections, choose Bing Webmaster Tools, fill in the form and save. The connection is checked live with the store first; a connection that fails the check is never saved.

## What the form asks for

- API key (required)

## Errors the check can show

The exact sentence the Connections page shows (<angle brackets> are your own values), then what to do.

- "API key is required."
Generate one under Settings, API access.
- "That does not look like a Bing Webmaster API key."
Copy the whole key, with no spaces.
- "Bing refused the API key."
The key was regenerated or is wrong. Copy the current one.
- "Bing answered <status>."
Bing answered something unexpected. Try again in a few minutes.
